Being continually intrigued with the concept of the economical use of materials and fascinated by the implications that arise from it, Homage to A.M. was composed by using only two basic unordered pitch class sets.  Rather than approach these in a contrapuntal way as I typically have in the past, I chose to create individual sound objects with these pitch class sets, creating a more translucent texture allowing the listener to grasp onto and appreciate them fully.  This work was written in reaction to the passing of one of America's greatest playwrights, Arthur Miller.
